EGYPT’S TEARS AND SUFFERING

What a sad day for Egypt and for everyone who loves this country. What happened?

How is it possible that one of the world’s greatest and oldest civilization is facing such pain? Such confusion, and hate. Did it happen in the name of power, greed or is once again religion responsible?

Whatever the reason is, it does not help the wounded man, the dead daughter, or a mother mourning her dead son – how can this pain be stopped???  The images we see on TV – I know they are not always impartial – give a feeling of helplessness. This morning a friend of mine in Egypt posted this on his Facebook page with the caption

To all my friends in the USA – this is our turn – I want your support

How can I support them? – How can an individual support them? What can we do ? Effectively?? Because even in the USA our individual power to influence our government is more limited than we like to admit.

But using our Facebook, Twitter and other Social Medias it might be a comfort to  the Egyptian people to let them  know that we care –  that we pray for them – that our thoughts are with them – and remind them that once this is over there is an Afterlife  –  our empathy might help to dry a tear here and there.
