WHEN STANDING NEXT TO AN ANCIENT EGYPTIAN TEMPLE, OR COLUMN, OR STATUE WE CAN’T HELP BUT FEEL SMALL, TINY, HARDLY THERE – THEY TOWER OVER US, AND WHEN WE LOOK AT OUR PHOTOS ONCE BACK HOME IT IS LIKE FINDING WALDO. WHERE ARE WE?
THE FACES OF THE GREAT PHARAOHS, CARVED IN STONE, LOOK DOWN ON US FROM INCREDIBLE HEIGHTS – LIKE THE STATUES OF RAMSES II IN FRONT OF HIS TEMPLE AT ABU SIMBEL – OFTEN WITH A HINT OF A SMILE NOT GIVING THEIR SECRETS AWAY. HISTORY HAS TOLD US WHY THEY WERE BUILT, BUT QUESTIONS REMAIN OF HOW? YES HOW – THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO, WITHOUT THE HELP OF CRANES, OR ANY OTHER EQUIPMENTS WE HAVE TODAY!
EGYPTOLOGISTS, SCHOLARS, AND THE WORLD’S EXPERTS IN ARCHAEOLOGY HAVE TRIED TO SOLVE THESE QUESTIONS, AND SOMETIMES THEY COME CLOSE, BUT THERE IS STILL A LOT OF SPECULATION – ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO THE GREAT PYRAMIDS OF GIZA.
More from Egypt soon

Great photos! But the pyramid you list as ‘the biggest’ is Khafre’s not Khufu’s.
Thank you for reading my Blog- to clarify – what is called the Great Pyramid of Giza is Khufu’s pyramid, he is often also called CHEOPS. Khafre’s tomb is somewhat smaller –
Best regards Brigitte
Yes, but the captioned photo is Khafre’s pyramid. Khufu’s pyramid does not retain any of the limestone casing near the pyramidion. The photo below the captioned one is Khufu’s pyramid.
You are right – I stand corrected and have changed my Blog accordingly – You must know Egypt well – have you been there – thanks for your input
